Imitation KFC Original




INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 to 3 eggs, beaten
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp's oil for frying

INGREDIENTS: Coating Mixture

  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tsps paprika
  • 2 1/2 tsps salt
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp tarragon
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp celery powder


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Mix together all the coating ingredients in a deep bowl.
  2. Dip each piece into beaten egg, then into the flour mixture in the bowl.
  3. Coat the chicken completely with the flour mixture.
  4. Pour the oil in a skillet and heat.
  5. Brown the chicken in oil slowly (225ºF if you are using an electric skillet), uncovered.
  6. Cover the skillet and continue to fry at a very low heat until the chicken is fully cooked, approximately 1 hour.
  7. Drain well on paper towels.
