Here are just a few of the many things you will find in addition to the secret recipes in this ebook:
Please don't think of this as just another cook book, they have taken World of Warcraft® recipes and made them into real life recipes. I give this ebook my personal "two thumbs up".
I spoke with the creator of this magnificent cook book and here is what she had to say.
How did you come up with the idea?
"I loved the crazy names and unusual ingredients used in the in-game recipes. While shopping with the whole family (all of us play WoW) I saw rhubarb and was struck by the resemblance to murloc arms. My kids (teenage boys) thought this was too funny and agreed with me."
"I made a "strawberry-murloc pie" that tasted really good and I wanted to make the WoW recipes IRL. I thought a cookbook of "real" WoW food would be cool, but my boys said that they didn't think WoW players would be interested in cooking IRL, so I gave up the idea for a while."
"I couldn't keep it out of my head, though, so I went ahead and made up a list of WoW food, and then made up recipes for each of them, tested the recipes, and photographed the food that I made."
How long did it take to create the book?
"It took about six or seven months once I decided to go through with it. I did a lot of research and sometimes made multiple versions of the recipes trying to get it just right."
"Gooey Spider Cake was one of those that required several tries. My family had to eat a lot of different Gooey Spider Cakes! I was trying to find something tasty and gooey that would look appetizing, and that would be easy enough for inexperienced cooks, or those who have never made a cake before."
Have you tested every recipe?
"Yes, I absolutely tested every recipe. My dear husband ate everything I dreamed up. My boys are pickier eaters, but at a minimum they tested all of the desserts and breads!"
"For every in-game food item that had a written recipe I developed my own to match those items as much as possible using real world substitutes. (It's so hard to find raptor meat and deviate fish, you know.) I spent a lot of time working on the recipes and making them over and over again."
"I not only tested each recipe, I took pictures of everything that I made and those are the pictures you see in the cookbook. I think my pictures got better as the cookbook progressed, but that's why the photos are not exactly professional. I learned a lot about how difficult it is to photograph food and made it look appetizing. Photographing most of the dishes was torture because it all smelled so good and everybody just wanted to eat them."
What are your top five recipes in the book?
"That's a tough one. I really like everything in the cookbook. If pressed I would have to say that my favorites are Dig Rat Stew, Crispy Bat Wings, Beer Basted Boar Ribs, Mulgore Spice Bread, and Strawberry-Murloc Pie."
